About
Who We Are
Praise the LORD!
Praise God in His sanctuary;
Praise Him in His mighty expanse.
Praise Him for His mighty deeds;
Praise Him according to His excellent greatness.
Praise Him with trumpet sound;
Praise Him with harp and lyre.
Praise Him with timbrel and dancing;
Praise Him with stringed instruments and pipe.
Praise Him with loud cymbals;
Praise Him with resounding cymbals.
Let everything that has breath praise the LORD.
Praise the LORD!
- Psalm 150
The Psalm 150 Project started when I created an impromptu video of myself playing the song, “I Can Only Imagine” and posting it on YouTube. Within days, the video drew numerous requests for a tutorial from viewers, and three weeks later on October 27, 2007 I uploaded my first tutorial video. The two-part (a second part was added months later when I developed the “birds eye view” style of teaching) lesson received thousands of hits immediately, and soon I found several more requests to teach worship songs in this format.
Unfortunately at that time, it was difficult for me to respond, as my school, performance, and work schedule demanded a lot of attention, although midway through December, I was able to upload another video lesson, “If You Know You’re Loved” (by Matt Redman), which was a lovely song that I had been learning for that Christmas season. Finally in January 2008, I registered the domain Psalm150Project.com and began regularly uploading video lessons.
Despite a three-week ministry trip, and a five-week long vacation early in 2008, I was still able to create nearly seventy lessons of various quality. In addition to my normal tutorials of worship songs, I was even able to produce a tutorial for the Israel Kamakawiwo’ole’s version of “Somewhere Over The Rainbow/What a Wonderful World” on the Ukulele. Also, just this past Christmas, several tutorials of two popular non-christian Christmas (“Where are you Christmas” and “When Christmas Comes to Town”). And finally, I was also inspired to produce several piano tutorials of Tagalog-language (Philippines) songs, both secular and religious.
It seemed that God was indeed blessing this ministry, and in December, gave me the opportunity to expand through contact with Addison Aspilla. After a long email correspondence and a face-to-face meeting, I decided to partner with Addison, who will produce video guitar lessons. After several more emails and another meeting, Addison has also helped me to hone my vision for the site. These mission and vision statements can be found below.
I look forward to seeing where God will lead us in this wonderful ministry that he has placed in our hands. I pray that we, and our viewers continually seek to give Him who is the only One worthy, all of the glory, and that the number one purpose of learning these songs really is just so that every breath may be able to praise the Lord!
Mission and Vision
Our Mission is to provide basic instruction of popular worship songs to rhythm musicians and praise bands.
Our Vision:
- We envision a team of 12 instructors to create online videos and simple chord sheets.
- We envision a simple website that will house these resources and sustain thousands of hits per month.
- We envision conducting seminars for local congregations, conferences and, para-church organizations.
How To Use The Site

This website was created to compliment my videos on YouTube.
Here, you will find posts of the video tutorials, and the corresponding chords for that tutorial. You may notice that the chords are very small. I have been forced to do this because of the way I need to format the chords in order for them to stay in place. I do not suggest reading chords on the website while doing the video tutorial. Rather, copy and paste the chords into NotePad (or into Word, as long as you set your Font to Courier), and then printing these chords.
Now most visitors to this site come from my YouTube page in search of chords for my video lessons. I can see how it would be difficult, then, to find these chords (since they are ordered by the date of posting). In order to find the chords that you wish to use, please check the right side of the page where you can find categories, consisting of Artists/Writers of the songs that I’ve posted up. To find out who wrote/performed the song you wish to find chords for, please check on the YouTube video, where the artist/performer is located. Then find this artist/perform on the category menu. Alternatively, you can also use the serach function at the top of the page.
I cannot emphasize enough how important technical skills are to learning piano. Technical Skills are scales, triads, chords, and other technical exercises that may seem repetative, but are incredibly helpful to your musical development. Thus, I would suggest taking the first few chords in a song you want to play, and playing the scales of these chords (for example, since I Can Only Imagine begins with an E chord, I suggest playing the E Major Scale). For beginners, I would suggest purchasing a scale book to use. In the future, I hope to post a video tutorial on how to figure out scales, major and minor.
These are fastracked, and simplified ways to play the piano, and cannot possibly replace actual lessons with a teacher. I would earnestly suggest you seek a teacher in your area, if you truly wish to further your music education.

I have recently been receiving questions about downloading my videos from YouTube. First of all, I don’t mind at all if you download my videos. I recently received a comment from a guy who said that he downloaded my videos on to his PSP and used that to learn the songs. I understand that some people may not have WiFi Access in their house, or may not have a laptop. So this is a great way to download the videos from YouTube.
Anyway, the software that I use is found here: http://www.dvdvideosoft.com/index.htm.
